SolutionCar edit

A car edit from your own clips, cut on the beat.

You filmed your car and want one of those edits where the picture changes on every hit of the sound? Upload your clips and your music, pick Car Edit, and Clippra cuts a 9:16 car edit for you: hard cuts on the beat, a punchy look, no text. When one of your clips shows the car clearly, it pops in early with a white outline.

No timeline, no keyframes, no template to rebuild. Clippra edits the clips you filmed; it does not generate footage.

This is a Car Edit, rendered by Clippra. Watch the car pop in.

What a car edit is

A car edit is a short vertical video of a car where the picture changes on the hits of the music. The cuts carry the energy, so the clips themselves can be simple: a walkaround, a drive-by, a close-up of the wheels or the lights.

Clippra's Car Edit does exactly that with your footage:

  • Hard cuts on the beat, about every 0.7 seconds: on every beat, or on every second beat when the track is fast.
  • A punchy, high-contrast look over the whole reel.
  • Every shot fills the frame, also clips you filmed in landscape.
  • No text. The car and the cuts carry it.
  • The pop: when a clip shows the car clearly, the car jumps in early with a white outline before its clip opens around it. If no clip allows that, the reel stays with hard cuts.

How it works

  • 1. Upload your car clips and your sound. Short phone clips are fine. The music is required, because the cuts follow its beat.
  • 2. Pick Car Edit. Use the “Car edit” button on your dashboard or the Car Edit card when you create a reel.
  • 3. Get your reel. Clippra checks that your clips and music are enough, then renders a 9:16 car edit of about 10 seconds.

Car Edit follows a ready-made pattern, so there is no first cut to rearrange. If you want to decide the order of your shots yourself, make a regular reel instead and check the cut before export.

What Car Edit does not do

Honest boundaries, so you know what to expect:

  • The pop needs a clearly visible car that can be cut out from the background. A car far away in a wide shot will not pop.
  • There is one look and no text. For your own line on top, pick another effect reel.
  • You do not set every cut yourself. If that is what you want, a timeline editor fits better; the CapCut comparison says when.
  • Clippra does not generate or add footage. Everything in the reel comes from the clips you upload.
FAQQuestions

Frequently asked

Yes. Upload your sound together with your clips. Clippra finds the beats in it and places a hard cut about every 0.7 seconds: on every beat, or on every second beat when the track is fast. Without music there is no car edit.

Then the reel stays with hard cuts on the beat and skips the pop. The pop needs one clip where the car is clearly visible and can be cut out from the background; Clippra checks that on its own, you don't have to mark anything.

About 10 seconds, at least 8, as a 9:16 MP4 in 1080p for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Every shot fills the whole frame, also clips you filmed in landscape.

No, Car Edit has no text on purpose: the car and the cuts carry it. If you want your own line on top, pick one of the other effect reels, like Quote Beat.

On the Free plan, one effect reel is free on top of your free reel, and that can be a car edit. It carries a watermark and depends on the free spots of the day. On paid plans, a car edit counts as a regular export, without a watermark.
